The greatest part about the holidays is giving. CoverFX has come up with a fabulous way to give back to the community while staying in the spirit of all things beauty.

Head down to the Toronto Eaton Centre where CoverFX elves will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Daily Food Bank. As a thank you, you will receive the best-selling Mint Glaze FX ($22 CAD, while supplies last)!

Where: Outside of the Toronto Eaton Centre across from the Dundas Square
When: Monday, December 6, 2010
Time: 11:30 am - 1:30 pm

The weather is starting to get a lil' steamy in Toronto which means the city is all a buzz with must-attend events! And a few of these events are happening around the same time. Hmm, could it have anything to do with the much anticipated Sex and The City 2 movie premiere??

When beauty and fashion come together to raise money for a worthy charity then you know it's going to be good especially if it's being hosted by supermodel and fellow Canadian, Coco Rocha, fashion icon and Fashion TV reporter, Jeanne Beker, performance by Dragonette, and fashion show from UK designer Todd Lynn! All this and an after-party, open bar, food, and some sweet swag!

Tickets are $95 and 100% of dollars raised will go towards a cure for children's cancer!

For event information visit www.strutforacure.com.

Founder of women's social network What Women Want, Shannae Ingleton, knows that women in Toronto want a fabulous cocktail party to celebrate the premiere of Sex and The City 2. On May 27, ladies will be able to wine, dine and date - yes date - in a dress. Women are allowed to bring one single male date for free. Men can party with a bevy of beauties and the ladies know that all the men in attendance are "Single in The City".

Attendees will also have the chance to shop various vendors. Your ticket will include a Cineplex Odeon Movie Ticket, a complimentary "Carrie Cosmo", a swag bag with SJP NYC Perfume, a full sized CARGO Cosmetics product and much more!

On May 14, a few of us beauty bloggers teamed up with the amazing ladies at LIFT Beauty Boutique to host a Girls Night In event in support of The Canadian Cancer Society. It was a fun-filled night of hair, makeup, and a deadly combo of wine and cupcakes! The final numbers are still being tallied but last I heard numbers were close to $800!

Thank you to all the fabulous women who willingly gave us their pretty faces, hair and money to support a fabulous cause. Thank you to Emily, Lauren, Brianne, and Melissa for hosting at LIFT. To my awesome fellow beauty bloggers, Anjali from Rock That Look, Farah from Faces By Farah, and Aanchal from Aanchal Artistry it was a pleasure working with you ladies!

A few of us bloggers have teamed up with the ladies at LIFT Beauty Boutique to host a Girls Night In charity event for The Canadian Cancer Society. A close family member of mine just passed away last week due to gall bladder cancer so this event is especially important to me. Did you know that 1 out of every 4 Canadians will die from cancer? It's a scary number and why it is important to do our part.

Our Girls Night In is happening on a Friday night so it's the perfect time to stop by and get beautified before hitting the town. Or why not treat your mother to an early Mother's Day gift! For a minimum donation of $25 your hair will be styled by the talented team of hair stylists at LIFT and mini makeup application will be provided by Anjali from Rock That Look, Aanchal from Aanchal Artistry, and yours truly. You'll be greeted by the beautiful Farah from Faces By Farah who will get you seated with cupcake in hand! Our fab photographer, Ishmil, will be snapping shots so don't be shy! There will also be great prizes to win.

Come out and support a great cause because doing good is beautiful! Read the official invite below for details! Hurry and RSVP - spots are limited!

In a time when devastation has struck so many people in Haiti and most recently Chile, a day of beauty to raise spirits and money seems like a good idea. Beauty blogger and makeup artist, Ande from Make Me Over Ande Services, is organizing a day of beauty to help those in need from her home country of Chile.

If you're in need in of some pampering you might as well put your money towards a good cause. Make Over Chile is happening on March 28 at 1pm - 5 pm, A La Moda Hair Salon. If you'd like to volunteer your services or be a sponsor contact Ande. Cheers to Ande for organizing such an amazing event - because helping others is a beautiful thing!

It has been over a week since the Hope For Haiti Beauty Benefit on February 7th, but it's never too late to report on what a success it was! This beautiful event was organized by the amazing makeup artist and beauty blogger, Rhia Amio. In less than 2 weeks, Rhia with the help of other volunteers and sponsors, was able to make Hope For Haiti a reality - can we say dedication or what!

Beautiful Malina before I beautifed her

I was honoured to be apart of this beauty fun-filled day and to see so many fantastic women come out to support this amazing cause. The bevy of beauties were primped and pampered with hair and makeup services, indulged in yummy appetizers including some fabulous cupcakes, and got to strike a pose for before and after photos of their glamourous looks. The day of course wouldn't be complete without some fabulous swag and beauty prizes!

Malina's after shot! Look out for her - she's the new face of Toronto Fashion Week March 2010! You might also recognize her from my portfolio.

I'm happy to report that in 5 hours we were able to raise grand total of $2,354 for the Canadian Red Cross...and with the Canadian government matching individual donations until Feb. 12th, that total doubled to $4,708 towards Haiti relief efforts! We were expecting to raise less than that but everyone truly went above and beyond.

Thank you to Rhia and everyone that came out and donated money and their time! It really is a beautiful thing to see beauty lovers and the beauty community coming together for a worthy cause. We hope to make this an annual event for other charities.

L'Oreal Paris:  When I was in high school, ok junior high, L'Oreal lipsticks and mascaras were my beauty staples and still continue to be. The line has changed dramatically since my teen years and isn't just your normal drugstore brand anymore. L'Oreal mascaras have always been a best-seller - the L'Oreal Voluminous was a staple in my kit back in the day - but with the introduction of the HiP (High Intensity Pigments) line L'Oreal has transformed the drugstore name.

Today we feature the one cosmetic line that empowers women to take charge of their own career, Mary Kay!

Mary Kay: When I think Mary Kay I picture the mother from Edward Scissorhands; decked out in a Pepto-pink 60's uniform carrying a Pepto-pink makeup case full of creams, correctors and lipsticks. Well, in a previous post we've discovered it's "not your grandmother's makeup anymore"!

Mary Kay Ash built her company with a passionate, can-do attitude and is one of the world's leading business women in history. She has allowed many women to take charge of their careers and experience success on their own terms. I think all of us know at least one woman who is a Mary Kay representative!

Thank you to the wonderful team at Mary Kay for your generous donation!

To continue our Hope For Haiti sponsor profile today Makeup Junkie features the masters of skin correction and flawless skin CoverFX!

CoverFX: Pictured above are Lee Graff, President and Co-Creator, and Jenny Frankel, VP and Co-Creator. Lee's background as a corrective makeup specialist for patients with skin disorders and burn victims are what prompted her to start Cover FX. Well, I know many women especially with skin problems that only turn to CoverFX for flawless skin!

I had the pleasure of meeting the fantastic team at IMATS Toronto this past November. If you are a fan of CoverFX then you know about their extensive foundation line. I'll admit, I was always intimidated to buy their products because I had no idea how their colour scheme worked but after a CoverFX 101 with Wanda Longo, International Communications Director, I was set straight!

Read about my experience and reviews of some of my favourite products here!

Thank you to the lovely team at CoverFX for donating to Hope For Haiti!

Continuing with our sponsor features for Hope For Haiti is the trend-setting hair salon,Vidal Sassoon!

Vidal Sassoon: Vidal cuts and colours are known for being technically precise and cutting-edge. Do you remember when everyone and their mother was getting the asymmetrical bob a few years ago? Vidal Sassoon created "the bob" during the 60's and keeps reinventing it in an edgy more fashion-forward way. If you're looking for a trendy new do, then you're in good hands at Vidal Sassoon!

Two years ago I had the pleasure of getting a complimentary cut and colour in the swanky Yorkville area. To read my review click here.

Thank you to the wonderful team at Vidal Sassoon for contributing to our Hope For Haiti beauty event!

It's crazy but we have already reached capacity only 2 days after announcing the event! If you'd like to be put on the waiting list please visit our Facebook event page here. Today Makeup Junkie features a staple in my kit, Canadian cosmetic line FACE atelier!

FACE atelier: What can we say about CEO and founder, Debbie Bondar, other than she's an absolute sweet heart and one amazing businesswoman! As a woman in her fifties (doesn't she look fabulous?) with two grown daughters, she wanted to create a line that would empower women of all ages to look their best. FACE atelier products is such a versatile line that anyone can customize to their needs.

I own the entire Ultra Foundation Pro line and all my clients love the results! The silicone-based foundation makes your skin look and feel smooth and flawless. Rather than settling into fine lines or wrinkles, it floats on top of the skin. I've turned many-a-makeup-junkies onto the magic of Ultra Foundation! For past reviews click here.

Thank you to Debbie and the awesome team at FACE atelier for being apart of this special cause!

Today we are featuring the fabulous makeup artist favourite Canadian line CARGO Cosmetics!

CARGO: The first product I was obsessed with from CARGO was the line's jumbo-sized Lip Gloss tins. Since then, I have been obsessed with many favourites from CARGO. Founder Hana Zalzal created products that would be equally useful for makeup artists and easy enough for regular beauty lovers to enjoy. CARGO's innovative lines such as PlantLove, an all-natural line, and blu_ray, one of the first High-Definition makeup lines, are why the brand has gained cult-classic status.

To continue our Hope For Haiti sponsor profiles today we are featuring the ladies from BALMSHELL!

BALMSHELL: Makeup Junkie loves a good story that involves true passion and the love of cosmetics! Canadian brand, Balmshell, created and founded by identical twins, Jennifer Lees and Fiona Lees, is truly for the lip gloss junkie. With their love of gloss and the desire to bring out a woman's "inner goddess", Balmshell was born and has created quite a cult following.

Thank you to BALMSHELL for contributing to such a wonderful cause!

In a previous post I wrote about how much I adored their glosses. To read more click here.

I announced yesterday that I will be doing makeup at the Hope For Haiti Beauty Benefit in Toronto on February 7th. It takes a dedicated team of people to organize a charity event and it would definitely not be possible without the contributions of our amazing beauty sponsors!

I'm proud to feature some of the world's top beauty lines who also happen to be Canadian! Take a moment to read about one yummy bath and body line we absolutely adore, Cake Beauty!

Cake Beauty: Creator, Heather Reier, knows what women love to indulge in - decadent bath and body products that smell delicious and are good for your skin. Who knew you could create a top-selling bath and body line right out of your own kitchen! And that's exactly what Heather did.

Today Cake Beauty is a cult favourite and is sold worldwide. The line both titillates the senses and includes ingredients like mango and shea butters, marshmallow, coconut and jojoba oils, turbinado sugar, pure essential oils and whole milk. The icing on the cake (pun intended)? The adorably chic and girly packaging!

Cake fans can't get enough of these rich, delectable products that are good enough to eat! Some of my favourites from Cake Beauty include the Milk Made Velveteen Hand Creme! For past reviews click here.

Thank you to the team at Cake Beauty for your contribution!
